CHALLENGE
Assess current behaviors and attitudes of fibromyalgia sufferers and the potential role mobile technology plays in disease management. This included understanding the patient journey, evaluating emotional and rational unmet needs and uncovering opportunity of technology to support treatment.
APPROACH
IDIs and focus groups were conducted among fibromyalgia patients, starting with a collage homework focused on both their illness and use of digital technology.
Patients co-created an ideal mobile solution for disease management and pain tracking.
OUTCOME
Research identified potential points of interest where pharmacological treatment could be supplemented with a mobile app. Thought starters were developed for the design of a mobile app that focused on primary areas of need and interest.
